In April 1967 the local Women's Institute produced a couple of one-act plays in the Iron Acton Parish Hall. Having acquired a taste for treading the boards they formed the Actonians Drama Group. Later that year the Actonians performed their first play "Quiet Wedding", and since then have produced over 100 full length plays and 70 one-act plays during the past 50 years. Now we perform two major productions a year and usually enter the local one-act festival. Our repertoire is varied and we have a good reputation for the quality of our work. Although we perform on a small stage, we are ambitious in the choice of our plays and will readily embrace a challenge. We enjoy an active social calendar, during and between productions, and over the summer months there is a programme of social activities. We are a very active, friendly group and are always keen to welcome new members whether you wish to tread the boards or support backstage. If you are interested in joining then please contact us using the "Contact Us" page. Our club nights are Wednesdays from 7:30pm. You will always receive a very warm welcome.
The Junior Actonians meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Their lively sessions include drama games, workshops, improvisations and preparing for productions. If you have a youngster, over 10 years old (Year 6) and under 18, who is interested please contact us via the "Contact Us" page.
